HA! no truer poetry has ever been spoken!
We depend WAY too much on computers...but can you even remember what life was like without them? Definitely more lonely.

It's been a long time since I've seen that one...but I do love it so. And I've sure spent some quality time with the Blue Screen of Death.

Priceless!

Here are my favorite cat Haiku:

You never feed me.
Perhaps I'll sleep on your face.
That will sure show you.

You must scratch me there!
Yes, above my tail!
Behold, elevated butt.

Grace personified.
I leap into the window.
I meant to do that.

Blur of motion, then --
silence, me, a paper bag.
What is so funny?

The mighty hunter
Returns with gifts of plump birds --
your foot just squashed one.

You're always typing.
Well, let's see you ignore my
sitting on your hands.

My small cardboard box.
You cannot see me if I
can just hide my head.

I want to be close to you.
Can I fit my head
inside your armpit?

Wanna go outside.
Oh, shit! Help! I got outside!
Let me back inside!

Oh no! Big One
has been trapped by newspaper!
Cat to the rescue!

Cats meow out of angst,
"Thumbs! If only we had thumbs!
We could break so much!"

The Big Ones snore now
Every room is dark and cold
Time for "Cup Hockey"

We're almost equals
I purr to show I love you
Want to smell my butt?

Did you write those? If so, you are a true genius. And on no sleep, too!

Have they really?

How marvellous! I would be far less likely to swear furiously at a gentle haiku than I do at the current error messages.

They really have!

Serious error.
All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Both are blank.

I love it!

Brilliant, Tertia. You should publish those--I'm serious.

T - those haikus are actually sent to UK Microsoft users, no? I just found several links to the above haikus. Why can't we have something nice like that in the U.S. of A? LOL.

LOL...My DH, who is a computer tech, just loves the "windows is like that" haiku! He says it is so true!

*somebody* clearly has waaaay too much free time on her hands. You'd think she'd take the opportunity of a free desk at work for a snooze but nooooo. She's got to haiku.

tsk, tsk.

oh no! I didn't write these, I got sent them on email. Can't claim any credit.

I wish I could be this creative with no sleep!

LOL!

Too bad you did not write them. I was about to congratulate you and turn over the greatest Haiku Microsoft Failure Award! Bravo Tertia!!!
Oh well, maybe next time then...

wish I was so clever!

Your sleep deprivation is showing.

Haha I have seen those in a forward. They're funny

Love them! Thanks for posting these!

I just love haiku!
I've written many myself,
just like this one, see?

For Gorgeous Tertia,
funny, smart and sarcastic,
to you I give thanks!

How do you keep up?
Blogging, babies, work and sleep?
Champion juggler!

You even find time
to share funny things with us
and this with no sleep!

No need to reply.
My comments? Irrelevant,
in the larger scheme.

Keep doing what works!
Update us when your able.
No obligation.

I hope you enjoyed
my lame attempts at humour
I need more sleep too!

I'm sure these are wrong,
not really haiku at all,
but I think they're fun!

Some kind teacher here
will no doubt correct my verse
Oh well, did my best!

I can not pretend
to be perfect and much less
to feign Godessness.

That last one used to be a 404 (page not found) error for a lot of MIT's pages. They have since changed it to something more conventional and irritating.

It's also a reference to this Williams Carlos Williams poem:

This Is Just To Say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast.

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold.

That makes it even cuter, I think.
